2 sex workers arrested after police discover brothel operating from San Mateo apartment
(KRON) — The San Mateo Police Department said it arrested two sex workers at an apartment on Bridgepointe Parkway following an investigation where residents reported “possible prostitution activity” to investigators.
San Mateo PD said its Crime Reduction Unit served a search warrant at the location Friday and determined it was operating as a brothel.
Police said it received several calls to its dispatch center and anonymous tip line which made them aware of the situation.
In a social post announcing the arrests, the San Mateo Police Department wrote “this is a perfect example of ‘if you see something, say something’ working.”
There is no word yet on what charges the two individuals face.
San Mateo police remind community members they can always report crime to 650-522-7700 or the tip line at 650-522-7676.
