ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Happy Thursday! Meteorologist Matt Mackie says the snow will be steady this morning with squalls in the afternoon and temperatures in the 30s.

A fire in Waterford on Wednesday left one person dead and six people were sent to the hospital. Also, there was a fire in Knox on Wednesday that left two people dead. These stories, and more, are in your five things to know this Thursday.

1. One dead, six injured in Waterford fire

One person has died and six more were hospitalized after a three-story building caught on fire Wednesday morning in Waterford. Fire crews said when they responded, all three stories were already engulfed in flames.

2. Fire in Knox leaves two people dead

A fire in Knox on Thompsons Lake Road left two people dead on Wednesday morning. It happened around 3 a.m.

3. Suspect identified in Troy officer-involved shooting

In an update on the officer-involved shooting in Troy on Monday, Troy Police said Michael L. Broadie, 39, of Albany, is facing four counts of first-degree attempted murder of a police officer. Police also said he is also accused of possessing ecstasy pills.

4. Saratoga Springs commissioner cited for falsified FOIL requests

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office cited a Saratoga Springs city employee for allegedly unlawfully preventing public access to records. The Commissioner of Accounts, Dillon Moran, is accused of three non-criminal complaints.

5. Puppy from Windham plane crash fostered in Connecticut

Whiskey, the Lab-mix puppy on board Seuk Kim’s plane that crashed in Windham High Peak, is recovering from surgery. He is being fostered by an employee of Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center.
