In the first match, NZ (402, and 110/2) registered a resounding 8 wicket triumph over host India (46, and 462). In a nutshell, with this series win, New Zealand won its first ever test in India after 36 years and has become the first team to beat India on home turf after 12 years. This is also the Kiwis first ever test series win against India and a first on foreign shores since 2019. The NZ win also ended India’s streak of 4331 days of 18 wins. The last test series loss for team India was in December 2012, against Alastair Cook’s English squad by 2-1 in a four-match series.
