Broncos fans excited for rivalry matchup with the Raiders while waiting to meet Denver stars

DENVER (KDVR) — The Broncos return home to Empower Field this Sunday to face their biggest rival, the Las Vegas Raiders, and fans at an autograph event at Mike’s Stadium Sports Cards in Aurora let their true feelings about the Raiders be known.

“I don’t like them,” said fan Patrick Eaton.

That’s the sentiment in line outside of the card shop on Friday, as fans waited in line for an autograph from Broncos cornerbacks Patrick Surtain II and Ja’Quan McMillian.

“Always Raiders hate week for me,” said fan Jacob Vo.

From the long-time fans in line.

“I’ve hated them since I was born,” said Timmy Trujillo.

To the young ones there, too.

“They’re stinky,” said William Eaton.

You won’t find any love for the Raiders around here.

“Their fans. Them as a team. They’re cocky even though they suck every year,” said Trujillo. “What’s to like about them?”

Surtain said already in his few years with the team, that the intensity of this rivalry shows all around town.

“Fans just bring all the passion and energy behind the rivalry,” said Surtain. “Honestly, I could tell these past couple years how much this game means to them.”

And with the team on an eight-game losing streak against the Raiders, he’s ready to turn things around this week.

“We’re ready to catch a victory for sure,” said Surtain.

The Broncos and Raiders kick off on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. at Empower Field and you can catch the game on FOX31.
