The NYPD believes the fatal shooting of the UnitedHealthcare CEO was “a brazen, targeted attack.” Here’s a look at the scene of the incident as more details continue to emerge.
The NYPD is actively searching for the perpetrator who shot Brian Thompson this morning.
The CEO of UnitedHealthcare—one of the largest health insurance companies in the United States—was shot around 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown Manhattan, located on Avenue of the Americas near 54th Street. The 50-year-old was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Thompson was reportedly en route to the company’s annual investor conference in New York City at the time of the shooting.
