From VOA Creole: Haitian cassava added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List

Haitian cassava, a popular breadlike food staple in Haiti, has made it onto UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List for 2024. The announcement came during a UNESCO meeting in Asuncion, Paraguay. Cassava joins Haiti’s historical New Year’s Day pumpkin stew “Soup Joumou” on UNESCO’s list.
