Longhorns, Bulldogs meet in pivotal SEC matchup under the lights Oct. 19

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas and Georgia will play in primetime Oct. 19.

The No. 1 Longhorns and No. 5 Bulldogs clash under the lights at 6:30 p.m. in DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium on ABC, Texas Athletics announced Monday.

It’s the middle game of what is turning into a very tough three-game stretch with the Red River Rivalry coming up. The game against the Bulldogs could decide who plays in the Southeastern Conference championship game, and after last weekend, no one can forget about Vanderbilt after its 40-35 upset of previously-No. 1 Alabama. Texas travels to Nashville to play the Commodores on Oct. 26.

Texas will play Georgia for the first time in Austin since 1958. The teams last met in the Sugar Bowl that concluded the 2018 season with the Longhorns prevailing 28-21.

The Longhorns take on the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners at 2:30 p.m., Oct. 12 from the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The game will also air on ABC.
