Maywood woman missing after car found abandoned in middle of Ravenswood street
CHICAGO — Family is asking for the public’s help after a Maywood woman’s car was found abandoned in the middle of a Ravenswood street.
Coretta Washington, 53, left her parents’ house in Maywood last Wednesday morning at around 7:30 a.m.
Family has not seen or heard from her since.
During the early morning hours of Thursday, Maywood police went to the home to tell Washington’s parents that her car was found abandoned in the middle of the 2000 block of West Leland on Chicago’s North Side.
Family is worried because Washington has bi-polar disorder and may not have her medication.
“She is vibrant, she is a God-fearing Christian woman and graduated from the University of Illinois,” her sister Salina said. “Coretta has a college-aged daughter. They are like spitting images of each other.”
Washington is 5’4″ and has brown eyes and brown hair.
Anyone with information can call Maywood police at 708-250-6452.
