Kelly Ripa Thought Her Daughter Had An “SJP” Sarah Jessica Parker Poster “For Years” — Until She Realized What It Really Said
Every home needs a touch of Sarah Jessica Parker — or so Kelly Ripa thought.
Ripa revealed the reason for her lack of Halloween decorations this year on Live with Kelly and Mark on Wednesday, explaining that she and Mark Consuelos‘ home was photographed for Architectural Digest.
“I’ve gotta tell you, I was very against it,” she admitted. “We’ve always said no, but I always felt like it’s a jinx of some kind, like you’re almost jinxing the good fortune of your house.”
However, Ripa gushed about the magazine transforming her home.
“I could not believe this was the same house I lived in. It’s so glamorous, and they removed all evidence that we lived there,” she quipped. “Any detritus from the kitchen — I’m going to show you this photo first because I could not believe this is and was my daughter’s room.”
Before sharing the picture of their daughter Lola’s room, Ripa and Consuelos teased that the room had not looked this pristine since the day they moved in.
“To be clear, when we moved in, this is what it looked like… for five minutes. Then she took over, and it became not this. I sent her this picture and I said, ‘I would like for you to return your bedroom to this level of order,’” she said. “Isn’t that pretty?”
Ripa then turned everyone’s attention to a poster on the wall that reads “Sup.”
“For years I thought that that painting hanging over her little chair said ‘SJP.’ And I was like ‘Oh my God, I love that it says SJP. I love that we have a Sarah Jessica Parker art piece,’” she recalled. “And then Lola said to me, ‘That says Sup. As in what’s up.’”
Consuelos quipped, “Not her most mornings, believe me, when the alarm clock’s going off.”
