Chances of rain sprinkled into Southern California forecast
Southern California will get a couple of chances at receiving measurable rain this week and into the weekend.
The first chance arrives Thursday as a storm to our north moves down the coast.
“Really good chance that tomorrow evening we will get some light to moderate rain. Probably not a big deal but it will bring an onshore push,” KTLA meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said Wednesday.
The KTLA Futurcast shows moisture moving into the Los Angeles area Thursday afternoon with our 7-Day Forecast currently calling for a 40% chance of light showers.
High pressure is expected to settle in on Friday bringing a return of sunny skies but that won’t last long.
“Saturday, a really good storm starts to make its way into the northwest and Northern California. Some of that tries to make its way down south … so we could add some rain to the late Saturday evening forecast into Sunday morning,” Henry said.
This system has the potential to be slightly wetter than Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain totals still appear to be on the light side at around a quarter inch possible for Ventura and Los Angeles counties “though under a tenth of an inch is the most likely scenario,” the Weather Service stated.
The chance of rain continues into Monday with another weak system.
