Don’t adjust your calendars, Chicagoland: It’s still just over a week away from Christmas.
It just doesn’t feel that way outside, however, at least to start the work week.
Early-morning temperatures Monday were already in the mid-40s, and highs later will push 50.
But it’s also a dreary start, with a Dense Fog Advisory in effect for pretty much all of Chicagoland until 11 a.m.
The morning fog and drizzle will clear somewhat later Monday, but it’s still likely to be mostly cloudy, with winds gusting up to 20 or 30 miles per hour out of the southwest.
Tuesday will be cooler, but still pretty mild for this time of year. Snow showers could then move in later Tuesday into Wednesday, but not much accumulation is expected.
Temps will then begin to drop to more typical Christmas-time levels by the latter part of the week.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy start, breezy and increasing clouds. Late evening snow possible. Winds WNW at 10-15 mph, gusts to 20. High 41.
EXTENDED OUTLOOK: Snow showers to continue into Wednesday morning, with not much for accumulation with this fast-moving clipper system. Highs on Wednesday in the mid-30s. Thursday mostly cloudy, with highs in the low 30s. Friday sees a touch more sun, with a chance of snow showers late in the evening. Winter Solstice on Saturday, and temps will feel like winter, with highs in the mid-20s and a chance of AM snow showers.
