Jaipur LPG Tanker Blast: Man Burnt In Deadly Explosion Walked 600 Meters Asking For Help But Bystanders Made Videos

CW: Distressing content and visuals with mention of injury and death by burns

At least 15 people died and 30 were critically injured in one of the worst accidents in Rajasthan’s Jaipur on Friday last week. Following a collision of a tanker truck filled with LPG gas on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, several CCTV and mobile footages have emerged showing the extent of damage. Some of these visuals may be highly distressing to the viewers. The incident happened in the Bhankrota area, in front of a DPS school, where multiple trucks reportedly collided, leading to outlet nozzle damage in one of the trucks filled with flammable chemicals. The explosion was so loud that it could be heard beyond a mile. The blast took out every nearby vehicle and property, including a bus filled with passengers. Some of the passengers quickly made their way out by jumping. The rest did not survive.

Meanwhile, a clip of a man in flames has gone viral on social media. Radheshyam Choudhari, a 32-year-old motor mechanic who left early for work, was seen emerging from the inferno. He suffered 85% burns. Reportedly, his last words were to take him to the medics and that he would pay for the fare. Unfortunately, he succumbed to the burn injuries a few hours later. Before passing out, he managed to recite his brother Akheram’s phone number, who later stated the plight of Radheshyam. He stated that even as his brother walked for about 600 meters and asked for help, several bystanders kept on making videos.

Several survivors are on ventilator support, even as doctors are grappling to save their lives. It is difficult for victims with severe lung burns and respiratory tract damage.
