Apple Rumored to Limit iOS 19 Support to Select iPhone Models: Check List
Apple is expected to roll out its iOS 19 software update for select iPhone models only. According to a new report, Apple’s iOS 19 will continue to support all iPhone models currently running iOS 18. The information comes from the French website iPhoneSoft.fr, which claims to have an inside source at Apple.

If accurate, this would mark the second consecutive year Apple has chosen not to drop support for any iPhone models, offering good news for users of older devices. With iOS 18 already compatible with many iPhones, the report suggests that iOS 19 will extend support to the following models: iPhone 16 Series, iPhone 15 Series, iPhone 14 Series, iPhone 13 Series, iPhone 12 Series, iPhone 11Series, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone SE (2nd generation and later).

If the report is accurate, this would mark the second consecutive year that Apple has not dropped support for any iPhone models with a major iOS release. iOS 18 maintained compatibility with the same iPhone models as iOS 17, which had previously dropped support for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
However, there is slightly less favorable news for iPad users, as iPadOS 19 is expected to drop support for the 2019 iPad 7, while all other iPad models currently running iPadOS 18 will still be compatible with the new update.

The iPadOS 19 update is expected to be available for the following iPad models: iPad Pro (M4), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later), iPad Air (M2) and iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad (8th generation and later), and iPad mini (5th generation and later).
For those eagerly anticipating the release of iOS 19, the first public beta is expected to debut during Appleβs Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2025. The final version of iOS 19 is likely to be available in September 2025, following Appleβs typical release schedule. While details on new features are scarce, an exciting rumor suggests that Siri could become more conversational, resembling ChatGPT, in a future iOS 19.4 update, which might be released around March 2026.
