About 3000 Indian Students Lining Up For Waiter Job At An Indian Restaurant In Canada Triggers The Internet
A massively popular and vehemently RW account on X/Twitter that spews jingoistic content known as Megh Updates reshared a video bite by local media outlet in Canada’s Toronto showcasing about 3000 students (mostly Indians) line up for a servers/waiter job in an Indian restaurant, ‘Tandoori Flame Grand Indian Buffet.’ The RW account tried to spin the news as an issue of joblessness in Canada, triggering the desi Internet that for a moment seemed to forget the crippling Pakodanomics back home. One of the aspirants who was stranded in the beeline outside the Brampton based restaurant quipped that they were not hopeful of a job at the outlet considering the overwhelming number of applicants. One of the interviewed students remarked that some of their friends have been looking for jobs for over a couple years and are still struggling. The guest executive manager of the restaurant stated that the interview is set for two days for a new venture by the restaurant. One of the candidates told the media outlet that they have dropped over 70 resumes in the last two weeks along with three interviews. Reactions poured in with several netizens taking potshots at the aspirants for leaving India and now struggling overseas, while others were sympathetic with the students. Few netizens slammed the massive joblessness in India and lack of opportunity that has led to exodus of desis abroad in pursuit of a better life and livelihood.
They are much better & normal in western countries than lakhs and crores of engineers, MBA’s , graduates applying for peon job in India, whose examinations can not be held by the centre govt. without paper leaks.
