Adorable goat’s way of greeting mom each day has internet in stitches

A farm owner shared a clip of her pet goat’s unusual way of greeting her in the morning, and internet users can’t cope with how goofy it is.

The TikTok video shared on Monday by @mommatay2019, shows the goat, Mr. Nibbles, approaching his owner as she says good morning to him from the other side of the fence, making noises with his tongue as if blowing raspberries at her. “Mr. Nibbles’ morning greetings are the best,” reads a caption shared with the hilarious clip.

In an article for Vet Street, Dr. Laurie Hess says that goats are very social creatures and will be unhappy when kept alone. While they love the company of other goats, they can also bond with their owners, and those raised around people tend to enjoy being petted, and hanging out with their owners.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) adds that goats are very inquisitive and playful creatures that like to climb and explore things, so owners should provide them with appropriate environment enrichment, including tree stamps, logs, wooden benches and large tires, among other things.

Goats are generally quiet animals, but they tend to make vocalization when they want or need something; for example, when they are hungry or thirsty, when they’re unwell or injured, or when they are frustrated.

But, beside being noisy, they can also be incredibly destructive, chewing wood off and climbing up fences until they break them. That’s why the RSPCA suggests that all the structures in the pet’s environment should be strong and sturdy.

If you are thinking of getting a pet goat, there are a few things you should consider before making this huge commitment.

Hess’s article says that goats need lots of space to roam free; for example, a miniature goat, which is the one most typically kept as a pet, needs at least 135 square feet of romper room space, while a standard goat needs over twice that.

They also need a barn for cover and protection and to go sleep at night. Goats are very agile climbers and so their fence should be escape-proof and high enough to keep them in; at least 5 feet high for a standard goat.

The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 2.9 million views and more than 339,000 likes on the platform.

One user, MrsJaramillo2006, commented: “I’m embarrassed by the amount of times I watched this and continued to laugh so hard!!! [You’re] a funny guy Mr. Nibbles!!!!”

Cheddoar posted: “Goats are so goofy!!”

Chris added: “My dog would like to say he loves the video. I was watching and all he could do was turn his head side to side interested in it.”
