Arrowing a really big one for first buck with a bow
Tom Jeffries made his first buck with a bow a big deal.
On Nov. 1, he arrowed a wide nine-point buck in Kendall County.
“The buck field dressed at a whooping 268 pounds and was estimated to be over 8 years old, per my butcher,” he emailed. “By no means the biggest buck I’ve ever harvested, but definitely the largest deer I’ve had to drag out on my own and my first buck with a bow.”
That is just a huge deer.
BOTW, the celebration of bucks and their stories (the stories matter) around Chicago outdoors and beyond, runs Wednesdays in the paper Sun-Times.
