Baby John Box Office Day 3: Varun Dhawan’s Movie Struggles To Earn ₹20 Crore; Fails To Beat Pushpa 2, Mufasa
Varun Dhawan’s Baby John is struggling at the box office as the collections drop steadily. Following three days in the theatres, it has managed to make Rs. 19.65 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. Baby John is facing tough competition from Pushpa 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King.
Pushpa 2 shined at the box office for over 20 days, and is still making more money than the new release. On Pushpa 2’s 23rd day, it made Rs. 6.5 crore in Hindi, which is more than Baby John’s Rs. 3.65 crore.
Mufasa, which was released across multiple languages, also made Rs. 6.6 crore on its eighth day. Baby John had 935 shows in the Delhi-NCR region on Friday, which witnessed only 10 percent occupancy. In the Mumbai region, the film saw 614 shows, with an overall occupancy of 14.5 percent.
Also, Varun Dhawan hasn’t had a solo hit in theatres since 2017’s Judwaa 2. Baby John was his biggest opener since 2019’s Kalank, which opened with Rs. 21.6 crore, but flopped at the box office. 2022’s Jugjugg Jeeyo, which also starred Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor, was perceived as a hit and managed to make Rs. 85 crore at the domestic box office.
Baby John’s opening day collection of Rs. 11.25 crore raised hopes, but the subsequent drop in collections has been alarming. As Baby John enters its first weekend, it remains to be seen if it can bounce back and sustain itself at the box office. It’s success will depend on its ability to attract audiences and hold its own against Pushpa 2 and Mufasa. The real test for Baby John begins now, and it will be interesting to see if it can rise to the challenge and carve out a niche for itself in the crowded box office landscape.
