BART halts Transbay Tube service after earthquake rattles Bay Area
(NEXSTAR) – BART announced a major systemwide delay Thursday after a 7.0 magnitude quake in Humboldt County that shook the Bay Area.
“There is currently no Transbay Tube service to or from San Francisco due to a report of an earthquake,” the transit authority said on X. “Please seek alternate means of transportation.”
BART announced that MUNI will be providing bus service between Embarcadero and Daly City. SAMTRANS will be taking riders between Daly City and Millbrae/SFO.
The quake, which struck at 10:44 a.m., triggered a tsunami warning that spanned the coastline from Davenport up to southern Oregon.
The extent of damage from the earthquake is not yet known.
