Bhavish Aggarwal Teases New OLA EV Meant For Gig Workers; Internet Suggests ‘Pehle Existing Customers Ki Socho’

CEO Bhavish Aggarwal teased two new models from the house of Ola Electric. Priced at Rs 59,000 and Rs 39,000 only, the S1 Z and Ola Gig are the most affordable models of the desi EV giant so far. The delivery of the vehicles will commence in April 2025. Reservations for both models are open now.

Pegging the Ola Gig EV as indispensable for desi gig workers, Bhavish tweeted that the Indian gig economy will grow twofold in the next few years, employing more than 10 million gig workers. He further stated that these gig workers unfortunately have to ride poor-quality products that are available at a much higher price. The announcement of sasta sundar (and tikau?) EV amid row over post-sales service that stirred much slander online with standup comic Kunal Kamra highlighting crippling issues at Ola. The consumer protection body CCPA took notice and acted upon the over 10,000 complaints lodged in a year, sent a show cause notice to Ola Electric, and ordered a detailed investigation. The company claimed to have resolved 99.1% of the complaints; however, it is alleged that the firm deleted the token history before displaying them as resolved, without actually addressing the issue. The company is yet to categorically refute these allegations.
