(KRON) — The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has identified the body found in a Gilroy waterway as 21-year-old Gabriel Laradelara of San Martin, who was reported missing earlier this month.
Santa Clara County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of an unresponsive person near Monterey Road and Rucker Avenue on Dec. 15. When they arrived, they found a body floating in a nearby waterway. Laradelara was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office are investigating the circumstances of his death.
Laradelara was reported missing on Dec. 1. His family had organized search efforts in the area, which ultimately led to the discovery of his body. Earlier in the month, his 2003 black Infiniti FX45 was found abandoned along Monterey Road, near where his body was located.
