Broncos QB Bo Nix says he’s “good to go” Monday night after hurting back vs. Raiders
If any doubt lingered about rookie quarterback Bo Nix’s status for Monday night, he put it to rest Friday.
“I’m good to go,” he said. “Ready to roll.”
Nix was estimated to be a limited participant in Denver’s Thursday walkthrough because of a back issue. He didn’t miss any time in Sunday’s 29-19 victory over Las Vegas, but the broadcast did show him grab at his lower back after he made a throw backpedaling in the face of pressure from Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. After one of two touchdown passes to Courtland Sutton in the second half, Nix had a wrap placed around his back.
Now Nix will make his Monday Night Football debut against Cleveland.
“Every game is primetime,” Nix said. “Every time you get to put on the helmet and the uniform — it’s a cool uniform this week, by the way — every time you get to do that, it’s special and you don’t want to take it for granted. Playing in the NFL is a special opportunity and each time you get to do it, you just want to maximize it and make the most of it.
“This time the lights happen to be a little bit bright and the sun’s going to be down.”
This story will be updated.
