Celebrating Mr. McGuire: Cambridge man receives 600+ birthday cards

JACKSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Richard McGuire’s resume couldn’t fit on one page, but you’ll still find his stories are more impressive. Born on Penope Farm, he spent his career dedicated to farming and the advancement of New York agriculture.

On his property, you’ll find multiple buildings full of old tools and agricultural machinery, which he enjoys opening to the public. He calls it the “12 museums at Penope Farm.”

On Nov. 3, he celebrated his 102nd birthday. He received more than 600 birthday cards from people around the world.

“We haven’t counted them all yet,” Mr. McGuire said. “Kind of surprised. Dody’s answered them in groups, some of them.”
