First Robert Downey Jr, and now Chris Evans is reportedly bringing his iconic characters back, which was given an honourable farewell in Avengers: Endgame. Deadline has also reported that Doomsday will see Anthony Mackie reprise his role as Sam Wilson, aka the new Captain America. Back in Endgame Evans’ Rogers had passed the iconic shield to Wilson before biding farewell to the franchise.
The Wrap reported that Chris Evans will rejoin the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday in 2026. Since the upcoming MCU projects include multiple timelines Evans could return as a new version of his character or a completely different character. After Deadpool 3 it is highly likely he will return for another cameo and could be in any capacity. It seems like Doomsday is preparing for a massive reunion of several Marvel characters.

Coming back to his Deadpool 3 cameo, Chris appeared in the film as original Fantastic Four character Johnny Storm. While the cameo had fans excited for just that, the reports of Evans’ possible big return to MCU has not gotten happy response from many fans. One X user said, “Ok so endgame just like didn’t matter huh,” while another added, “they’re just doing it for nostlagia”.
I actually don’t understand how you masterfully build up Endgame as a goodbye to Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans in the MCU to only bring them back for the next Avengers movie right after Endgame
