Don Johnson just celebrated another trip around the sun — and gave fans a rare peek into his family life.
To celebrate his 75th birthday on Sunday, December 15, the Hollywood icon took to Instagram with a snapshot with all five of his kids. Sitting on a staircase decked out in holiday cheer, Johnson looked festive in a fedora, scarf, and coat.

The caption was pure dad pride: “My Kids are my Everything!!! Happy Birthday to me!!!”
His wife, Kelley Phleger, was right by his side in a black dress with an embroidered collar. The couple’s three kids — Grace, 24, Jasper, 22, and Deacon, 18 — were there too. Also joining the family fun were the Miami Vice star’s older kids: Dakota, 35, who he shares with ex-wife Melanie Griffith, and Jesse, 42, from his relationship with Patti D’Arbanville.
Rounding out the group was Alexander Bauer, 38, who Griffith, 67, shares with actor Steven Bauer. Johnson officially adopted Alexander during his marriage to the Working Girl actress between 1989 and 1996. Stella Banderas, 27, Griffith’s daughter with ex-husband Antonio Banderas, was also part of the celebration.
After the post hit social media, it didn’t take long for fans to react in the comments section.
“What a beautiful picture of a beautiful family ! Thank you for sharing it with us ! Happy Birthday ❤️,” one person wrote.
“75 never looked so good 👏👏,” pointed out another.
“Happy birthday Don. My acting HERO since 1984,” chimed in a third.
“🥂🎉 HAPPY SWEET 75! 🎉🥂” another cheered.
Johnson, who’s been in the spotlight for over 50 years, has always been open about the joys and challenges of parenthood. In an interview with People in September, the ’80s heartthrob reflected on life as an empty-nester after his youngest left for college.
“Now that they’re all out of the house, it’s sad,” he admitted. “But they all come back. They never really leave. And honestly, you don’t want them to leave.”
Johnson also shared how his career priorities have shifted over the years, allowing more time for family. “I’m at a place now where I can pick and choose,” he told the outlet. “I still like doing what I do, and I still get the same joy out of it, but I just don’t want to work those long hours and be away from my family.”
The Golden Globe winner and his wife, Kelley Phleger, have been going strong for over two decades. When asked about their lasting bond, Johnson told Parade in May 2023, “Obviously, she’s a saint.” Reflecting on advice from Bob Dylan, he added, “Love is about kindness, trust, and respect… and that’s the embodiment of Kelley.”
