Firefighter transported for evaluation after house fire in Centennial

DENVER (KDVR) — A firefighter was transported by medics for further evaluation after responding to a house fire in Centennial, according to South Metro Fire Rescue. Two deputies were also evaluated and cleared, and all occupants of the house were evacuated.

The fire was reported Sunday afternoon in the 4800 block of South Gibraltar Lane.

Heavy fire was reported but was under control as of 1 p.m.

The deputies were evaluated after rescuing two juveniles from the backyard.

According to SMFR, one dog and five cats are unaccounted for.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, Aurora Fire Department and Arapahoe Rescue Patrol assisted SMFR with the fire.

Investigators with the Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to determine the cause.
