Despite a modest cool-down the middle of next week, the overall temperature trend is for warmer than normal temperatures to continue by and large the rest of the month.

An interesting analysis by NWS Chicago folks…..through October 17, Chicago has seen 128 days this year that temperatures have averaged 6-degrees above normal compared to only 37 days with temperatures 6-degrees or more below normal. The number of above average days even outnumbered the number of near average days 2/3!!
