Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire live: Netanyahu unveils deal

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has announced he an “outline for a ceasefire in Lebanon.” He will bring the deal to his cabinet for approval tonight. In a televised address, Netanyahu added that “with the full understanding of the United States,” Israel would “respond mightily” to any breach of the cease fire by Hezbollah. President Biden is set to deliver remarks from the White House at 2:30 p.m. ET, in response to the announcement. The deal includes a two-month halt in fighting, and requires Hezbollah to withdraw from southern Lebanon while Israeli troops retreat to their border. Thousands of Lebanese soldiers and U.N. peacekeepers would deploy in the area, overseen by an international monitoring panel led by the U.S.
