Man accused of running woman over with vehicle in Orange County
A suspect was arrested for allegedly running over a woman with a car in Garden Grove.
Thuan Cong Duong, 30, was arrested in connection with the incident, Garden Grove Police confirmed.
On Dec. 10, police responded to reports of a disturbance in the 12200 block of Brookhurst Street shortly before 3 a.m.
Arriving officers found two victims at the scene — a 32-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man.
The woman was found severely injured and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. She told police that she was intentionally run over by a vehicle. The second victim was uninjured. The vehicle involved in the crash was left at the scene.
Detectives began investigating and later identified Duong as the suspect. On Dec. 17, Duong was taken into custody and booked into Orange County Jail for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
Details on the circumstances surrounding the assault, including the possible motive, were not released as the case remains under investigation.
