Man arrested for allegedly trying to pimp Denver women; believed to be more victims
DENVER (KDVR) — A Los Angeles man was arrested for allegedly trying to pimp two Denver women, and prosecutors are looking for more victims in the area.
On Monday, Denver District Attorney Beth McCann announced that 48-year-old Murlin Swanston was arrested on suspicion of trying to pimp the two women he met on commercial online sex sites.
However, it’s alleged that there are many more.
According to the DA, dating back to 2021, thousands more women across the country were allegedly contacted online by Swanson in an attempt to get them to take part in his sex trafficking ring. The DA said that many of these women were commercial sex workers.
Swanson was arrested and is being held in California.
The DA said formal charges will be filed in Denver as soon as Swanston is extradited to Colorado, although a date for his extradition has not been scheduled.
The DA said prosecutors believe there are more victims in Denver and are asking any possible victims to contact Investigator Joe DeAngelo in the DA’s Human Trafficking Unit at 720-913-9108.
