Mayor appoints interim member to Albany Common Council
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan appointed an interim member to the city’s common council. Richard Conti will represent the 6th Ward in 2025.
Conti previously served in the common council for 14 years. He’s currently a member of the Albany Human Rights Commission.
Conti will serve out the remainder of Gabriella Romero’s term. Romero was elected to the New York State Assembly with 70 percent of the vote. She is replacing Pat Fahy in the assembly.
Fahy was elected to the New York State Senate to take over the seat that was held by Neil Breslin, who is retiring.
