New iPhone SE 4 And iPad 11 Expected To Arrive This April Alongside iOS 18.3
Mark Gurman, a trusted Apple insider with a good track record for leaks, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify the timeline for these devices. He shot down earlier rumors suggesting the iPhone SE 4 would be launching this month, saying that everything seems on track for an April 2025 release. Gurman also mentioned that the iPhone SE 4 would likely launch before iOS 18.4, meaning it could come with iOS 18.3 preinstalled right out of the box.
Yes, the new iPads and iPhone SE replacement are being developed on the iOS 18.3 train – but that doesn’t mean they launch together this month. It means they’ll launch before iOS 18.4, by April if all goes to plan. https://t.co/qaMSH1ImSW— Mark Gurman (@markgurman) January 7, 2025
As for the details of the iPhone SE 4, leaks suggest it will feature a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display, similar to what we saw in the iPhone 14. Under the hood, it’s expected to be powered by the A18 chip from the iPhone 16 series, which would bring a significant boost in performance along with support for Apple’s advanced AI technology, known as Apple Intelligence. In terms of the camera, the iPhone SE 4 is likely to have a 48MP rear camera and a 12MP front camera, which should make it a solid option for photography enthusiasts on a budget.
The iPad 11 is also set to make its debut in 2025. It’s expected to feature a 10.9-inch display, which would be a slight increase in size compared to the current iPad 10. However, the design will likely remain similar to its predecessor. The iPad 11 is expected to be powered by a newer A-series chip, offering better performance and efficiency. It should also support Apple Intelligence, with a minimum of 8GB of RAM, allowing it to handle more demanding tasks with ease.
The iPhone SE 4 and iPad 11 are shaping up to be excellent options for consumers looking for affordable, high-performance devices. While the design might not change drastically, the upgrades in performance, camera quality, and Apple’s AI capabilities will make both devices appealing to many. With the expected release window set for April 2025, Apple fans have a lot to look forward to in the first half of the year.
