Pakistan International Airlines Ad For Paris Flight Cracks Up The Internet; Internet Asks If Al-Qaeda Designed It
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) dropped its latest advert, announcing the resumption of flights between Islamabad and Paris from January 10, 2025. The rather innocuous ad did not bode well with netizens.
The PIA graphic shows a plane heading straight to the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris, reminiscent of the 9/11 Twin Tower terrorist attack. On September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists affiliated with the Osama bin Laden-led Al Qaeda group hijacked four commercial flights and crashed two of them into the Twin Towers of the renowned World Trade Center in New York.
The planes crashing into the buildings with the ensuing explosion and the tragedy it caused are still fresh in people’s memories across the globe. What followed was an excruciating war in Afghanistan against the terrorist group, declared by the US and its allies. During the Bush presidency, however, when the 9/11 event occurred, the mastermind of the attack, Osama bin Laden, was not caught. He was located hiding in Pakistan’s Abbottabad, where the jehadist was killed by US Special Operations on May 2, 2011, under the Obama administration. Pakistani intelligence’s alleged involvement in sheltering the terrorist overlord has been a global concern ever since, and so has the country’s failure to tackle terrorism sheltering under its wings.
Ironically, PIA’s 1979 advertisement of its international flight to New York showed the grim shadow of its airliner approaching the twin towers! Netizens are wondering if the Paris ad is another oracle in disguise.

Users asked if the advert was designed by Al-Qaeda and if the ad was a threat. Others dropped Osama Bin Laden memes. Some users shared the 1979 PIA ad that showed its plane over the World Trade Center towers.
