Arctic cold front brings snow squalls, strong winds, and lake- effect snow to the Great Lakes and Northeast
An Arctic cold front sweeping across the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes, and towards the Northeast over the last 24 hours has produced strong winds with some locations recording gusts over 70 mph. Among heavier snowfall totals as of Thursday afternoon:
Areas of heavy snow and gusty winds will continue over the Great Lakes, central Appalachians, and Upstate New York overnight into Friday before another fast-moving clipper arrives with more snow this weekend.
