Saturday forecast: Wind chills in the teens
CHICAGO — Bundle up. The coldest temperatures so far of the season are upon us.
Temperatures during the 7 a.m. hour were in the teens, with “feels like” temperatures in the single digits. And the mercury isn’t going to rise much as the day progresses.
The city coordinates a network of nearly 200 public facilities available to help people keep warm, including library and park district locations, police departments and City Colleges of Chicago facilities during business or designated hours. With temperatures below 32 degrees, the city’s Department of Family and Support Services has opened up its six warming centers. Cook County also maintains a number of warming centers.

Extended outlook calls for another cold day on Monday with mostly sunny skies and highs around 31. We’ll finally get above freezing on Tuesday with more clouds and a chance of light snow late in the day. Highs near 40 on Wednesday with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of snow showers.
