Special Envoy Lipstadt’s Travel to Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE – United States Department of State

The U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, departed this week for travel to Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates from December 3-14.  This is Ambassador Lipstadt’s fourth trip to the Middle East and North Africa since assuming office in May 2022; her last trip to the region was to Israel in December 2023.

Ambassador Lipstadt will meet with governmental and civil society interlocutors to discuss ongoing and future efforts to promote interfaith understanding and religious tolerance and to counter antisemitism.  She will also discuss initiatives to highlight Jewish heritage and history throughout the region.

Ambassador Lipstadt will also participate in the International Institute for Strategic Studies’ annual Manama Dialogue in Bahrain on December 7-8.
