Stolen cars, ghost guns, over 50 lbs of drugs found in San Bernardino narcotics bust
Ghost guns, stolen cars and over 50 pounds of drugs were among detectives’ findings after busting a methamphetamine conversion lab in San Bernardino, officials announced Saturday.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, an investigation into illegal narcotics activity in the city led deputies to the 400 block of S. Sierra Way around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13.
While law enforcement teams served a search warrant at the location, the department says they found and recovered illegal narcotics and controlled substances they believe were possessed for sale, illegal assault weapons and stolen cars.
The findings included 3 assault rifles, 2 unserialized assault rifles (ghost guns), 3 semi-automatic handguns, 9 pounds of crystalized methamphetamine, 25 pounds of liquid methamphetamine, 5 pounds of cocaine, 20 pounds of marijuana, a “large sum of US currency” and five stolen vehicles.
Details are limited, the department did not immediately say whether any arrests were made in connection to the narcotics bust, or if there is a suspect(s) description.
In addition, no further details were released about the location other than that it was “found to be a small clandestine methamphetamine conversion lab,” according to the department.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
