SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Two people are dead after two cars collided near a Lemon Grove 7-Eleven on New Year’s Day, sheriff’s department officials confirmed.
The crash was reported around 11:17 a.m. in the area of Broadway and Buena Vista Avenue. No information about what led up to the crash is known at this time, although the collision resulted in one car wrapped around the pole of a street light.
At least two people were critically injured and both have since been pronounced dead. It is not known whether there were additional injuries in the crash.
San Diego County Sheriff’s Department deputies are expected to remain on scene for several more hours to investigate the crash and clean-up the wreckage.
