U.S. Global Music Ambassador Kane Brown Inspires Young Western Australians – United States Department of State
The U.S. Department of State announced today that multi-Platinum-selling American country music artist Kane Brown continued his public service as a U.S. Global Music Ambassador during a recent visit to Perth, Australia, where he met with young Western Australians on the margins of his recent In the Air headline tour.
As a U.S. Global Music Ambassador, Brown met with local teenagers, aged 14 to 19, through the U.S. Consulate Perth’s collaboration with the Clontarf Foundation and Foyer Oxford, two local non-profit organizations. During the meeting, Brown shared his inspiring career journey, emphasizing how music helped him overcome a challenging childhood. The meeting highlighted the vast and vibrant U.S.-Australia relationship in Western Australia, reflecting close cultural and people-to-people ties and showcasing how American country music connects and inspires across communities.
U.S. Global Music Ambassadors are the centerpiece of the State Department-YouTube Global Music Partnership, announced by Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken and Global Head of Music at Google and YouTube Lyor Cohen earlier this year. Spanning genres of music and generations of people, U.S. Global Music Ambassadors build on the legacy of the iconic U.S. Jazz Ambassadors of the 1950s and 1960s and use their music to bring people together and promote peace worldwide on behalf of the American people.
