UPS in Denver to temporarily lay off 400+ workers in early 2025

DENVER (KDVR) — UPS intends to lay off 404 workers at a Commerce City facility, at least temporarily, on Jan. 15, 2025, according to a letter sent to the State of Colorado in compliance with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.

The letter was sent on Nov. 15 and said the layoff was “due to changing business realities,” in the UPS network.

The employees impacted work at the Denver UPS facility at 5190 Ivy Street in Commerce City.

According to the letter, UPS will remain in the facility beyond Jan. 15 and the partial closure is “expected to be temporary.”

No additional information was provided in the letter.

The federal WARN Act, as it is known, requires that businesses provide employees subject to a layoff a 60-day notice.
