Westerlo man charged with child sex abuse image possession
WESTERLO, N.Y. (NEWS10)– New York State Police alongside the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce announced the arrest of a Westerlo man on Friday. Kyle Sweet, 37, is facing multiple charges after a sex crime investigation.
Sweet is accused of owning images consistent with child sexual exploitation. His arrest followed an investigation with police executing a search warrant at his Westerlo home on Friday, which stemmed from an online tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Charges:
- Promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony
- Possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony
Sweet turned himself into New Scotland state police, where he was arrested and processed on his charges. He was later arraigned at the Westerlo Town Court and released on a $30,000 bail bond.
