Police are investigating after a woman was found fatally shot in Hollywood Friday night.
Los Angeles police responded to reports of a shooting in the 6000 block of Barton Avenue shortly before 4 p.m.
Arriving officers found an injured woman with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Details on the case are limited. The events leading up to the shooting were not released as detectives continue investigating.
“We’re still discovering some of the more important facts of the case,” an LAPD spokesperson said. “I’d like to tell the community that we’re working hard to make sure that there’s no further threat to them. We do believe this is an isolated incident and we don’t believe there is no further threat to the community.”
It’s unclear how many suspects may have been involved. No arrests have been made as detectives work on developing leads.
The victim’s identity was not released.
Authorities confirmed no other bystanders were found injured in the area.
