AUSTIN (KXAN) — Americans clearly have an appetite for dining out, as food industry sales are expected to reach $1 trillion this year, Yelp analysts said in a December release. As more Americans spend time and money on dining experiences, Yelp compiled its list of the best new restaurants of 2024 — with four Texas spots making the ranks.
Wicked Butcher in Dallas claimed the No. 6 spot in the country, a downtown steakhouse centered around “elevated American comfort food with an emphasis on beef,” Yelp analysts wrote. Wicked Butcher is located at 1717 Main St., Dallas.
Coming in at No. 10 is Little’s Oyster Bar in Houston, serving up fish dishes sourced from the Texas Gulf paired with caviar harvested in California, an homage to Chef Jason Ryczek’s roots. Little’s Oyster Bar is located at 3001 S. Shepherd in Houston.
Ranked No. 17 nationally is Katami in Houston, a 12-seat sushi bar serving up classic sushi and nigiri pieces with Texas twists. Katami is located at 2701 W. Dallas St. in Houston.
Dallas’ Brazilian-Italian fusion spot Casa Pollastro clinched the No. 20 spot among Yelp’s rankings, noted for its 12-hour marinated rotisserie chickens, 16-ounce lamb chops, a host of pasta dishes and desserts. Casa Pollastro is located at 18160 Dallas Parkway in Dallas.
